55:00 - Isabel goes into the local brothel looking for her youngest sister Rosa, who went missing during the confusion of a military skirmish. However, she quickly becomes distracted by a naked Cristina bathing. Isabel is gawking at her in complete awe and curiosity. As if being drawn to her she walks to the doorway where she is caught staring by Cristina, who looks up and turns toward Isabel unabashedly. As becomes her usual style, a flustered Isabel turns and leaves without saying a word. Cristina turns back to bathing and chuckles to herself.

47:41- Isabel is in the tub bathing when she begins to think about Cristina bathing and begins to touch herself. However, she is quickly interrupted by her nanny Tata:
Tata: May I ask what you are doing. I'll just leave these (towels) here, and get out of the
tub already.
Isabel nods her head in agreement, the moment ruined.
29:20 - Following her bath, obviously distraught by her feelings, she goes and speaks with her sister Nieves.
Isabel: Why am I not like you?
Nieves: Because your not like mom. You have dad's legs.
Isabel: No, why don't I like dresses? Or jewelry...I don't know.
Why don't I brush my hair like you?
Nieves: Because you have beautiful hair and don't need to, silly.
Isabel: I wish I was more like you.
Nieves: what are you talking about? Isabel, don't say things you don't mean. Besides...Sometimes i wish men wouldn't fancy me so much.
Isabel: would you be saying that because of Ugarte?
Nieves: You noticed it to? [Isabel laughs] What? I can't help it. I drive them crazy. But you have other qualities. And you've always been
proud of them.
Isabel: I know. But right now, I'd like to be a woman like you.
Nieves: Can you keep a secret? [Isabel nods] It's not so difficult to be like me. You just need a little help.
The next morning all the sisters help her dress nicely, while her little sister bugs her for details about what man she's dressing up for. Obviously annoyed, Isabel insists there is no man she likes, she just wants to be like her sisters. Almudena replies "everyone is as they are. You can't change that." When shes ready, she finds Aníbal (the estates foreman who's like a brother to her).
Isabel: what are you doing.
Aníbal: Just taking paperwork to the attic.
Isabel: Aren't you going to say anything?
Aníbal: Anything, about what? [She gestures encompassing her new look] Did I miss something? Where's the party?
Isabel: Well, one gets pretty, and that's that. There doesn't need to be a reason.
Aníbal: Of course. I don't know...It feels strange, seeing you this way.
Isabel: Imagine that...it's not me. That I'm someone else. What would you say.
Aníbal: That your very pretty.
Isabel: Aníbal, come on, don't be dull. Imagine that I'm Nieves [who he's in love with]. What would you say.
Aníbal: Leave it. I have a lot of work.
Isabel: Aníbal, what am I missing? What does my sister have that I don't?
Aníbal: Isabel, you aren't missing anything, you're beautiful. It's
just that you're different.
Isabel: I don't want to be different!
Isabel runs off to her room to cry. Little sister Rosa enters and asks why she's crying. She denies she is, stating she's the strong one in the family. She doesn't cry. Anyone who has ever questioned why they are the way they are can completely understand what Isabel is going through. It would also be difficult to not have anyone you can look to for guidance.
